When you Submit Your Charter Review here, you're enhancing Charter Sailor online research and helping our brothers and sisters afloat avoid disastrous charter experiences that put us all at risk. For most of us, when we advance some or all of the charter cost to the Charter Pros we also put at risk travel costs, vacation and decompression time, and the safety and security of our friends and family.

With your help, we're building a Charter Value Scorecard on every active Charter Yacht and Charter Pro (Brokers, Companies and Sailing Schools, Charter Base Marinas, Captains, Sailing Instructors and Charter Chefs). Unfortunately, it's become necessary to independently track the performance of Charter Yachts and Pros.

Each Charter Review comes from A Charter Sailor (like us) and is verified as authentic by the YCA staff with final approval by me,

Unlike blogs, forums, company testamonials and consumer review sites influenced by the industry (sharks watching the baitshop!), if a YCA Charter Review cannot be verified it's never posted on the site. The YCA staff are experts in sniffing out 'fake reviews' and use technology and tenacity to protect our Charter Sailor knowledgebase.

Submit your Charter Review online or via phone, skype or email. Your online and offline privacy are assured, we ask for and jealously guard a minimum of personal information to verify the authenticity of your Charter Review. If you prefer, we'll create a pseudo (ghost) account over the phone so your personal information is 'never' placed online. We lothe spam and other unsolicited contact and respect your choice to 'opt-in' or 'opt-out' of any YCA communications (email, newsletter, etc).

You can't blame the weather. While we fully expect Charter Pros to properly set expectations we prevent negative impact to their Charter Scorecard from circumstances which are out of their control. This is done by focusing your Charter Rating on Charter Yacht Condition (cleanliness, condition, operation and safety) and Charter Pro Service Quality (reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy).

Membership Agreement...
It's important information regarding our relationship

The Yacht Charter Advisor (YCA) Membership Agreement contains important information about your rights and obligations as a YCA Member. Please read, understand and adhere to the following terms and conditions. If you have questions about your role as a YCA Member or the Membership Agreement, please contact us.

Intended Use - I understand that YCA is designed as and intended as a tool to help prospective yacht charter clients make decisions on their future charter activities. I know that no matter what decisions I am faced with I should never depend on a single source of information, but should use all tools available to me and then depend only on my own common sense in making a Yacht Charter booking decision.

I understand that the YCA Reports are based entirely on the perceptions and opinions of YCA members, and that YCA makes no predictions, warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, about the quality of any Yacht Charter Professional, Sailing Area or Yacht; nor is YCA under any duty to investigate the quality of work performed by a Yacht Charter Professional.

I understand that YCA does not accept any liability whatsoever for any harm that might result from any statements presented in the YCA Reports.

I understand that all statements concerning insurance, licenses, etc. are informational only, and are self-reported by the Yacht Charter Professionals. Since insurance and licenses can expire or are subject to cancellation, I should always double-check such information.

Sharing Information - Information in the YCA Reports is for the use of my intended Charter Crew and myself only. I will not share the information in the database with non-members or Yacht Charter Professionals.

Submission of Surveys - I will only provide a truthful and accurate accounts of my actual first-hand experiences with Yacht Charter Professionals.
I will only survey an experience that I have had within approximately three (3) years of the completion of the Yacht Charter.

I acknowledge and understand that I am solely responsible for all survey information submitted by me to Yacht Charter Advisor in connection with my membership, and that YCA bears no responsibility whatsoever for statements made by me or anyone acting on my behalf. I agree to defend and indemnify YCA if a determination is made that the reporting information I provided to YCA was false or otherwise intentionally inaccurate.

I confirm that I do not work for, am not in competition with, or in any way related to the Yacht Charter Professionals for which I submit surveys. Violation of this policy will result in removal of my survey and may result in the termination of my membership by YCA.

Anonymity - I understand that by default I am choosing to remain nameless to the Yacht Charter Sailor Community and Professionals and that I may change this decision to become "Public" in my account settings at any time. I also understand that if I am to be anonymous my User Name, which I choose, must not identify me in any way either. I also know that my survey information will be made available to the Yacht Charter Client Community and Professionals for which I survey, and that my User Name will be supplied.

Property of YCA - I understand that all surveys and their content submitted to YCA shall be deemed the property of YCA, and that YCA shall be free to use, for any purpose, any content, ideas, concepts, know-how or techniques contained therein, provided it does not violate my expected anonymity.

Editing Surveys - I understand that I may elect to alter, update or withdraw a survey related to a yacht charter experience at any time by contacting YCA.

I understand that all surveys are reviewed by at least one member of the YCA staff before they are committed to the YCA Database and available to the YCA Reports. Occasionally, it may be necessary for YCA to contact me regarding my survey before including it in the database.

I understand that if YCA finds (based on YCA’s sole discretion) my report is distasteful due to (but not limited to) references to race, religion, profanity, illicit substance use or abouse, hearsay, acts of a sexual or criminal nature, YCA may reject the survey and return it to me for clarification.

Disagreement Resolution Process – I understand that should Yacht Charter Advisor determine that my survey entries do not meet the criteria defined above, I will be given the opportunity to resubmit that survey after receiving an explanation by YCA as to the cause of rejection. This notification represents the Disagreement Resolution Process.

During the YCA Disagreement Resolution Process, I understand that I will be asked to review and confirm the accuracy and truthfulness of the information in my report. After the process is complete, should I decide to edit my survey any changes will be updated in the database after being reviewed by both parties.

Payment and Renewal Terms – As a Charter Professional, should I determine that I would like a subscription to receive detailed reports as part of my membership, payment will be provided using a Bank Check unless previous arrangements have been made. A paid subscription is good for thirty (30) days. Renewal of that subscription is done through the same process. This process is NOT automatic, and subscription renewal must be initiated by YCA.

Terms of License – Membership subject to the terms in this agreement shall continue indefinitely until Yacht Charter Advisor or I notify under the Cancellation criteria defined below.

Cancellation – I may cancel my membership or subscription at any time, by simply notifying Yacht Charter Advisor through an email, or by choosing to “unsubscribe” using the links provided in YCA’s Newsletter or standard correspondence. Cancellation of a subscription does not include a refund of any monies paid to Yacht Charter Advisor for current or past subscriptions.

In addition, I understand that Yacht Charter Advisor may cancel my membership or subscription if, in their opinion, I am violating the terms of this membership agreement.  A cancellation by YCA does not include a refund of monies for current or past subscriptions.

Intellectual Property – I understand that all of the content on the YCA site belongs to Yacht Charter Advisor as “Intellectual Property”, and that I may not use this information in support of any activities other than its intended purpose as outlined in this Membership Agreement, to include seeking or attaining a profit, negative marketing collateral, or any otherwise unintended use.

Privacy Expectations – I can expect that as a member, Yacht Charter Advisor will maintain my privacy, and I will remain anonymous to all other users, unless I expressly request that my contact and user information be shared with others. In the event I choose to share my information, Yacht Charter Advisor agrees to NEVER sell or use my information in marketing efforts, or any purposes not directly related to my membership.

Spam Prohibition – I will not use any email addresses belonging to Yacht Charter Advisor or to any of its members or subscribers for any reason other than what would be considered ordinary correspondence and contact. I understand that Yacht Charter Advisor will adhere to this same principle.

Warranty – I acknowledge that Yacht Charter Advisor is a forum whereby all of its members share information and experiences, and that YCA makes no guarantees or warranties on any experiences I may have as a result of using the YCA data.

Liability – I understand that Yacht Charter Advisor will be held responsible only up to the amount paid for each subscription for 1 year, if any, and will not be held responsible for any consequential damages of any kind.

Account Sharing – I understand that my membership is for my own personal use, and I will not provide my password or login information to any other party or parties.

Lastly … I know and acknowledge that YCA is an emerging business and may make modifications and additions to services routinely. For this reason, I understand that YCA reserves the right to add, delete or modify any of the aspects of this Member Agreement at any time. All changes to the YCA Membership Agreement will be posted on their Web site at www.yachtcharteradvisor.com.

Acceptance of Term and Conditions: I have read and understand the terms and conditions set forth above. I agree to abide by the terms and conditions of the YCA Membership Agreement and I understand that if I fail to abide by these terms and conditions YCA may, in its sole and absolute discretion, take certain actions to address violations, including termination of membership.

Your Charter Review captures your perception of the most important parts of the charter including the Charter Yacht Condition (cleanliness, condition, operation & safety) and Charter Pro Service Quality (reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy) including Brokers, Companies, Sailing Schools, Marinas, Captains, Sailing Instructors and Chefs.


YCA independently tracks the performance of each part of the Charter. Before you book, Know your Charter Yacht's history (maintainence issues, safety problems, etc) regardless, of where she goes or who manages her. Did your Charter Company just rename their business or boat name (like Chandler Yacht Charters in Greece)? What's the new name and why did they change it - you really need to know this. See the performance of your Sailing Instructor no matter what Sailing School or Yacht he/she teaches on. This information is priceless!

When researching a Sailing School select reviews to compare submitted by Review Period (past 1-3 years), Service Quality (1-poor to 5-excellent) and Affiliation (American Sailing Association (ASA), Royal Yachting Association (RYA), etc).


When researching Charter Yachts select reviews to compare submitted by Yacht Type (power, sail, mono-hull, catamaran), Charter Type (crewed, bareboat), Manufacturer (Beneteau, Jenneau, Bayliner, etc), length, Number of Cabins and Number of Heads. For all your searches, compare reviews submitted by gender, age, country and experience level.
